Dr. E. Nicole Meyer (Ph.D. University of Pennsylvania) is Professor of French and Head of Languages and Linguistics at New Mexico State University and Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes académiques. Named the 2026 Outstanding Faculty Member of Pamplin College at Augusta University, she publishes on a wide array of topics from French and Francophone women’s autobiography to Flaubert, French for Specific Purposes, Service-Learning, contemporary French cinema and nineteenth-, twentieth- and twenty-first-century French and Francophone literature. She is co-editor of Rethinking the French Classroom: New Approaches to Teaching Contemporary French and Francophone Women, (Routledge, 2019), of Teaching Diversity and Inclusion: Examples from a French-Speaking Classroom (Routledge, 2022) and of the special double issue “Saving English, World Languages and the Humanities: What and Who Should be Included in the Conversation?”, South Atlantic Review (June 2025). Her current book project is Fractured Families in Contemporary French and Francophone Women’s Autobiographies. She loves teaching all levels of French literature, language and culture and is known for her student-centered, career-pathway approach and innovative assessments.
