The Latin American Studies supplemental major is an interdisciplinary program with to concentration options: Latin American Language, Culture, and Literature or a major (history, government, economics, health science, anthropology, sociology). It consists of 24 credits (18 of which must be numbered 300 or above). Its mission is to give students a comprehensive interdisciplinary understanding of the cultures, languages (the students can choose either Spanish or Portuguese), politics, and economies of Latin America.
The Latin American Studies supplemental major is an ideal academic path to find a job in international or multinational corporations or agencies, public service (law enforcement, family support services, immigration, or schools), and foreign service.
