Portuguese Course Descriptions:  Fall 2016


PORT 213 = Portuguese for Romance Language Studies I

Portuguese I provides students with many opportunities to acquire beginning communicative skills in Portuguese. Students practice understanding, speaking, reading and writing Portuguese in the cultural context of Portuguese as a World Language.

PORT 214 = Portuguese for Romance Language Studies II

Portuguese II provides students with continuing opportunities to acquire intermediate communicative competence in Portuguese.  Students practice understanding, speaking, reading and writing Portuguese in the cultural context of Portuguese as a World Language.  In addition, brief literary selections in Portuguese are introduced.

PORT 453 = Independent Luso-Brazilian Studies 

Portuguese 453 is an Independent Study Course that provides students with opportunities to acquire an advanced level of proficiency.  Students practice understanding, speaking, reading and writing Portuguese based on the broad context of world travel.
